    Evil Item Deletion Publish Jul 8 2005 1:04AM GMT (PST +08:00)
    On July 7th, 2005 beginning at approximately 7:00PM PDT (July 8th 2:00AM GMT) we will begin bringing down the shards to implement an Emergency Publish that will Delete all Evil Items from the shards.

    The Emergency Publish schedule is as follows and we are anticipating each publish window to last approximately 1.5 hours:

    * July 7 - 7:00PM PDT (July 8 2:00AM GMT) - Chesapeake, Atlantic, Catskills, Siege Perilous, Legends, Great Lakes, Lake Superior
    * July 7 - 8:00PM PDT (July 8 3:00AM GMT) - Pacific, Lake Austin, Baja, Napa Valley, Sonoma, Origin
    * July 7 - 9:00PM PDT (July 8 4:00AM GMT) - Yamato, Izumo, Wakoku, Hokuto, Asuka, Mizuho, Mugen, Sakura, Oceania, Europa, Drachenfels
    * July 7 - 10:00PM PDT (July 8 5:00AM GMT) - Arirang, Balhae, Formosa

    We will let you know when you can begin using your Evil Item claim codes again. Until that time, please do not page a GM or contact customer service about the Evil Items.


    Evil Item Update Jul 8 2005 12:14AM GMT (PST +08:00)
    We are working on a timeline to re-release the items back into the game after they are destroyed. The code you used to get an item the first time around will work exactly the same way. Also, you’ll be able to retrieve the code from the same giveaway webpage when it becomes active again.

    We are currently working on a compensation plan for those people who traded items or gold legitimately for Evil Items. We added a special tracking code to the items so we can tell who traded the items to whom, which will help with the compensation process. Please note, anyone caught trying to lie or scam a support representative will be subject to penalties, including account termination.

    We will post more details as we finalize the plan. We apologize for the inconvenience.

    Monday, November 22, 2004 at approximately 1:30PM PST (9:30PM GMT) we will be deploying Publish 28 server code to the Pacific shard. This is the same code that has been in test on the TC2 Pub28 Test shard since November 16th.

    FAQ

    How do I get my Soulstones?
    When you go to the store to pick up the box you pre-ordered, you will be given a coupon with a 20-digit code on it. (Make sure the store is participating in the promotion before pre-ordering the game.)

    Or, if you ordered from an online retailer, you will receive the coupon in the same shipment as your Samurai Empire game. (Make sure the promotion is mentioned on the Samurai Empire order page before ordering.)


    Once you have the coupon, enter the 20-digit code into the in-game promotion system and the Soulstone will appear in your in-game bank box.

    Can I have more than one Soulstone?
    Yes. You get one for each box you pre-order.

    How can I use a Soulstone?
    If you have a character that you want to be a pure warrior, but he has a bunch of Magery skill points, you can move those Magery skill points to another character you own.

    Or, if you have a character you’d like be a blacksmith one day and a warrior the next, store your blacksmith skill points in one Soulstone and your swordsmanship skill points in another Soulstone. Change your character back and forth when you wish. (Except during battle. Soulstones cannot be used during battle.)

    Can I give a Soulstone to a friend?
    No. Soulstones are account specific. You can pass your Soulstones from one character you own to another, but you cannot give one to a friend.

    Can Soulstones be used during battle?
    No. You will not be able to use them in the middle of a fight.

    Can I use a Soulstone to move skill points from one skill to another?
    No. The skill points you store in a Soulstone cannot be transferred to another skill. For instance, you can’t turn Blacksmith skill points into Swordsmanship.

    Can I accumulate more skill points in one character by combining the skill points with another character?
    No. If you have 50 Swordsmanship on Character A and 40 Swordsmanship on character B, you CANNOT combine those points to get 90 in Swordsmanship on one character. If you move the points from Character A to Character B, he will end up with 50 Swordsmanship skill points, erasing the 40 skill points that were there before.

    The following was posted to FYI:

    September 13th, 2004 we will begin publishing the Ultima online game shards with the Publish 27 code. The first shard to get Publish 27 will be Great Lakes. Please see the full schedule at the button of this post for details on your shard.

    Contents
    Bug Fixes:

    * fix for 6th char slot text color issues
    * fix for 6th char slot client shutdown crasher
    * fix for "properly placed house becomes improperly placed" bug
    * fix for teleportation facet change bug
    * turn serpent pillars back on for production shards
    * unused and nodraw tiles are no longer displayer inside containers in the 2D client

    * Added a bag of minor artifacts and 10 ancient sos bottles inside this bag to test center bank boxes
    * Increased fame and karma caps to support paragon creatures

    Game Tweaks (Loot):

    * Added leather skirts to magic item loot tables
    * Reduced faction trap cost to 250 silver
    * Slightly tweaked monster loot backpacks
    * Added level 0 treasure maps for strong mongbats
    * Added level 5 treasure maps for rotting corpses

    Bug Fixes:

    * Localized "You have deserted your quest for the golden skull of Chyloth" for Doom quest
    * Fixed errors with golem special paralysis attack
    * Added necromancer familiar fixes
    * Fixed immobile creatures not engaging in melee combat
    * Fixed immobile creatures from becoming mobile when struck with a paralyzing blow

    Paragon Creatures:

    * There will roughly be a 5% chance that any creature in Ilshenar will spawn as a Paragon of its kind. Paragon creatures are intended to enhance play for the Ilshenar facet. They are to provide a challenge to player characters who wish to partake in high end PvM. These creatures will test the mettle of player characters, and the more powerful creature templates are intended to require an adventuring group to battle. For comparison purposes, consider paragon creatures to be mini-champions of evil. In any case, an Ilshenar Champion of Evil will not spawn as a Paragon.
    * Rather than greatly increasing damage output for paragons, they have been given buffs in their speed, regenerative capabilities, and hit points.
    * Whenever a creature in Ilshenar spawns as a paragon, it is granted the following enhancements:
    * Adds (Paragon) as the creature’s job title
    * Hues the creature gold
    * Removes the ability to tame the creature
    * Adds daemon target switching AI to creature
    * Increases poison hit strength by one if it has a poison attack (no greater than 5)
    * Multiplies creature’s maximum hit points by 5
    * Increases strength by 5%, intelligence and dexterity by 20%
    * Increases all skills by 20%
    * Modifies hit point, mana, and stamina base regeneration scaled based on the difficulty of the creature
    * Modifies speed of creature
    * Slightly increases the creature’s natural weapon class
    * Bumps up – or decreases if negative – fame and karma of creature by 40% (doesn’t bump up karma if karma is 0)
    * Will possess extra loot scaled based on its fame level
    * 10% chance that a paragon will spawn with a treasure chest equal to the treasure map level that it can possibly possess
    o If it doesn’t have a chance to possess a treasure map, then it doesn’t spawn a treasure chest
    o There are no guardians with these paragon treasure chests
    o Each chest will come in four different chest types, 11 different hues including the default hue, 8 colored ingot hues, Luna bank chest hue, and Umbra bank chest hue, and will possess the description of ‘recovered from (paragon)’. For example: recovered from a dragon (paragon)
    o These chests will contain about 20% of the loot normally found in current treasure chests of the appropriate difficulty level and will always possess a treasure map one level higher than the difficulty level of the chest
    o Unless otherwise stated, these treasure chests will function as current treasure chests (i.e., they’ll be appropriately locked and trapped)
    * Level 6 treasure chests will possibly spawn ancient wyrms, balrons, blood elementals, poison elementals, and titans. Level 6 treasure chests will always possess one minor artifact

    Minor Artifacts:

    * A lesser artifact is basically an item where its theme is visible through its name, hue, and properties, but isn’t necessarily the best of the best. Therefore, these items should very rarely exceed the maximum intensities and should very rarely have multiple maximum intensities.
    * Minor Artifacts will have a chance of spawning in each attacker’s backpack after a paragon creature or a leviathan is slain. This chance is computed and scaled based upon its fame level. Furthermore, the luck value of each attacker will also influence his/her chance to acquire a minor artifact.
    * Here are the minor artifacts that will appear for Publish 27.

    o There is a 1 in 40 chance that any message in a bottle becomes ‘an ancient SOS’ instead of ‘a waterstained sos’ when opened. Essentially, ‘an ancient SOS’ is a level 4 treasure chest that will always contain a new type of special fishing net called ‘a fabled fishing net’. When ‘a fabled fishing net’ is used deep in the sea, it will spawn a new sea creature called a leviathan. Like other special fishing nets, various sea creatures will also spawn, but in greater number. For comparative purposes, leviathans are equivalent to a paragon blood elemental in difficulty. Like with paragon creatures, possible minor artifact items may be rewarded to player characters who battle and defeat these legendary creatures. Along with typical loot, a leviathan always carries two kinds of ropes and a message in a bottle. It also has a 25% chance to carry a level 5 treasure map.

    "Publish 26 is going to be lighter than publish 25 in terms of feature list since half my team is ramping up on the project, but we've got some fun PvM changes in the works and pub 26 will roll out the initial version of our upgraded spawn system. We'll be initially introducing this spawn system as a replacement for the Ilshenar Champ Spawns, and in publish 27 I hope to leverage some of the new features in many other parts of the world. I'll talk about this in-depth when this is on test center for you all to try out. "

    Hmmm....

    If what ye report is true..(Cort Malic ordering the slaughter of gargoyles that disagreed with a declaration)
    this may be the beginning of a dangerous period.

    Since the birth of the LOCUST from the acts of Lord Dupre', there has been a strong growing alligence between the two races bound in HONOR.

    Ver Lor Reg was built long ago by remnants of the LOCUST and while within all great civilizations and societies there always will be dissidents who wait for thier opportunity to exploit a situation to help thier position.

    Followers of the defeated Gratagmalem still exist...thier distain for the alligence with Humans have been passed down through shadowy whispers between gargoyles who have felt oppressed or ignored.

    Be careful Cort Malic....
    what so many men, women and gargoyles of Honor have built for ages cannot be torn down by the act of a few or one...
    but
    can be put under threat and strife if actions are done in haste and judgments are made just to satisfy a shallow hunger or impatience.

    Enemies of the state (realm alligned) await any chance they can to exploit.

    Our treaty between Lord British and Draxinusom, King of the Gargoyles still stands and if the Gargoyles had a legitimate claim to try a criminal captured in thier kingdom....it should have been conducted within thier courts. Agreement though being made to transfer him to Yew....the decision to slay disagreeing gargoyle citizens....hmmm that decision will be in question for many days I fear.

    We shall see how this plays out.
